Bike Fitting Newcastle

Velotec Sports and Form Bike Fit have partnered together to provide a bike fitting studio to assist in all aspects of cycling from injured rehab of riders to performance-based fitting.

Welcome Dan !!!

Dan is a qualified physiotherapist who graduated from Newcastle University in 2016. He has since been practising in private practice and honing his skills in sports injury management and developing a deeper understanding of cycling biomechanics and ergonomics.

Before and during his studies as a physiotherapist, Dan worked in the retail bicycle industry. It was here that he began completing bike fit and suspension set-up’s for customers and participated in the science of cycling, APA accredited bike fit course to better understand cycling dynamics and fitting the rider through detailed anthropometrical and biodynamic assessment.

Once graduated from his studies, Dan went on to establish a bike fit program in multiple physiotherapist clinics and has continued to refine his skills and approach to bike fit.

Dan has partnered with the Velotec team to help riders from beginners to full-time riders who are looking to improve power and performance, to assess riding injuries, aches and pains on the bike and provide appropriate advice to improve the comfort and enjoyment of your ride.

The Bike Fit- What to expect

Anthropometric measurements- to get an understanding and requirements of you, the individual rider.

Lower limb power and flexibility measures- to assess for possible weaknesses or imbalance, and to inform where advise and changes can be made.

Dynamic measurements- to assess your strength and control, and to inform advise for future training focus points to improve your riding experience.

Bike measurements- to assess frame and component dimensions and parameters, for the purpose of knowing what can be changed if the need is identified.

Dynamic assessment on the bike- to identify and implement any changes to the bike set-up that need to be made, and/ or component changes needed.
